You’ve done your research on brands. Jinko Solar is on your shortlist of reputable companies. Furthermore, there are positive recommendations online surrounding the Intersolar Award finalist (2020) Jinko Tiger N-Type TR. However, one issue exists; the N-Type cell technology potentially exceeds project budget limitations. Welcome the Jinko Tiger P-Type TR. The near-identical variant with P-Type monocrystalline incorporating the world-famous Tiger Tilling Ribbon module design built larger for industry scale projects.
Model:
Jinko Tiger P-Type TR (Tiling Ribbon).
Variants:
66TR; 390 / 395 / 400 / 405 / 410 W.
78TR; 460 / 465 / 470 / 475 / 480 W.
TLDR:
The industry-scale counterpart to the acclaimed Jinko Tiger N-Type TR exists in the Jinko Tiger P-Type TR. Ideal for industry and utility-scale projects where good value and power density is required. The Jinko Tiger P-Type provides overall Superior (Above Avg (Cat3)) product specifications by a financially strong module manufacturer.
The following detailed product analysis for the Jinko Tiger P-Type TR should be used as a guide only. Individual circumstances and compatibilities should always be considered when selecting the ideal solar module. This content comprises the Solar Analytica Assessment Criteria (solar modules) based on available product specifications at compilation (refer to post date).
1. Design: 74/100
Leveraging from the remarkable Jinko Tiger N-Type TR design is the strikingly similar Jinko Tiger P-Type TR design with one significant variation beyond the apparent P-Type and N-Type mono cell structure. Cell quantity. The Jinko Tiger P-Type possesses two interesting cell quantity variances that are uniquely aligned away from the Jinko Tiger N-Type. A 66-cell (132 half-cell) and a larger 78-cell (156 half-cell) format. Both of which position themselves on the more prominent module sizing aspect.
Considering the 163mm/6.4inch cell size, the 66TR variant of the Jinko Tiger P-Type positions itself at the residential to the industry side of the spectrum. However, the 78TR at 25kg is better suited for industry to utility-scale projects. Conversely, the Tiger N-Type presents in a 60TR and 66TR variant. Why the discrepancy in sizes? At the time of design, the more affordable cell type (P-Type) suits the larger module designs from a project feasibility perspective.

4. PERFORMANCE: 80/100
The Jinko P-Type TR is an admirable performer when it comes to within this classification. Factoring only a 2% maximum reduction in the 1-st year is commendable. At the same time, the 0.55% maximum annual power reduction provides a good (Above-Avg (Cat1)) degradation factor. When combined, both performance sub-classifications ensure the Jinko Tiger P-Type TR output shall be no less than 84.1% of the nominal power output by year 25.
However, the central element that adds Outstanding value to the Performance criteria of the Jinko Tiger P-Type TR is the Performance guarantee assurance. Comprehensively covering three significant aspects should the Performance fall below the nominated factors, Jinko will provide support cover on Parts, Service and Transport to rectify potential issues. All of which, if the process guidelines have been appropriately adhered to.
IMPORTANT: The Jinko Tiger P-Type TR performance guarantee should be interpreted in conjunction with the entire Jinko limited warranty REV.110320 document or that of which succeeds it. 5. Guarantee: 78/100
Similar to Performance criteria, the Jinko Tiger P-Type product Guarantee maintains Outstanding Guarantee assurance in a warranty claim scenario. Potentially the most comforting aspect to any guarantee is the Manufacturer bankability rating. Bankability determines a company’s financial strength by 3rd party tiering assessments using proprietory gauging methods (methodologies). Regarded as criteria towards which a manufacturer is most likely to survive time to service any potential warranty claim.
At the time of writing, PV Moduletech ranked Jinko in the upper echelons of module manufacturer bankability rating Jinko Group AA, Q2 2021. A 12-year product Guarantee provides adequate support above the financial feasibility period nominated by financial supporting institutes for the expected projects the Jinko Tiger P-Type has been designed (industry/utility). When considering all aspects of the product Guarantee, the Jinko Tiger P-Type possess an Elite Guarantee ranking.

Overall: 78/100
Ranking overall Superior in the Solar Analytica Assessment Criteria (solar modules), the Jinko Tiger P-Type TR offers the advanced N-Type TR design specifications in a more viable P-Type (positively charged) cell structure. As such, the Jinko P-Type TR presents in two larger style cell (66 & 78-cells) formats, suggesting that the intended purpose for the Tiger P-Type TR is more for industry and utility-scale projects as opposed to residential projects. The Jinko Tiger P-Type TR capitalises on the remarkable N-Type Tiling Ribbon design to offer a Superior Jinko solar module ideal for diverse global projects requiring an above-average solar module option.
