The entity
This network is operated by Solar Analytica Pty Ltd (ACN 653 738 115), a privately held Australian company, working from the Australian grid edge since 2021. The same evidence is read at three altitudes: this site for markets and systems, review.solar for product scorecards, and wattbench for applied reference and tools.
Who built the platform
These platforms were built for Solar Analytica Pty Ltd by McKercher Labs, under a commercial engagement. McKercher Labs is part of a Western Australian group that also operates solar retail and installation businesses, so that group holds commercial interests in some of the categories this network covers.
That relationship, the boundaries which apply to it, who maintains the platform now, and the direction the money runs, are set out in full on the review.solar disclosure register. It carries a dated changelog and is the authoritative record for the build relationship. It is linked rather than repeated here, because the same facts written twice in two places is how a disclosure drifts out of date.
How the company earns money
We do not claim to be without commercial interest. We have one, and this is it.
Data licensing. Solar Analytica data is licensed to platforms, publishers and tools that want source-anchored numbers inside their own product. Licences are structured so a licensee cannot filter, suppress, reorder or modify a figure. Where a number is wrong, the correction runs through the methodology, in public, for everyone at once.
Research access and delivery. Named scopes and versioned delivery for partners who need a question answered against the evidence. Public findings stay open, and every figure stays named to its source.
No payment is received from any manufacturer, distributor or installer, and none is received from the providers who build or maintain the platform. The engagement with those providers runs one way: the company pays them.
Standing commitments
These are permanently in effect and a reader is entitled to hold the company to them.
- Coverage is not for sale. No payment, sponsorship or consideration of any kind is accepted in exchange for coverage, placement, ratings or conclusions.
- We hold no position in what we write about.No stake in any asset, market, product or company covered. Where a report names a real asset or counterparty, it states facts from the public record and draws no conclusion about any party's private position.
- Every figure is named to its source. Wherever the source is public, the figure is reproducible from it. A reader with the same records arrives at the same number. Where a figure relies on a licensed commercial reference and cannot be reproduced from public sources alone, it says so.
- Inclusion cannot be bought or blocked. On the product side, eligibility is a public datasheet, not a relationship. Scores are derived mechanically from published sources under a published rubric.
- Method changes are versioned in public. When a method changes it gets a version, a changelog entry, and a re-run of what it affects. A figure moves because the data changed or the method changed, never because of an undisclosed adjustment.
Manufacturer neutrality
Solar Analytica is manufacturer-neutral. The company is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any manufacturer, and no manufacturer can pay for placement or inclusion. Brand names, model numbers and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and reference only. See Trademark for the full position.
How the company is held to this
Commitments are worth what the record shows, so the record is public.
- The Forecast Ledger holds dated industry projections and our own scenario endpoints side by side, each marked in public as the data settles it, including figures we would otherwise have relied on.
- The Data Trust Register carries a quality declaration, a publication-contract receipt and a refresh disposition for every registered data product. Missing external review or DOI registration stays visibly missing.
- The changelog records method versions and what each change affected.
- An external review counts as completed only when the durable record names the reviewer, their affiliation, a conflict statement, the findings and the date. Invited or open status is not an endorsement.
What is held on the publications' own registers
A disclosure belongs where the thing it describes lives, so it is written once. This register holds ownership, the operating company, how the company earns money, the build relationship, the standing commitments, manufacturer neutrality and the accountability record. The review.solar register holds the platform and development disclosure in full, the scoring and rubric disclosures, relationships with product makers, and that publication's own dated disclosure changelog.
